X-Ray Technologist Operating Room Per Diem

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking an X-Ray Technologist for per diem work in the Operating Room. In this role, you will prepare patients for radiologic examinations, position patients appropriately, and execute specialty radiologic procedures while assisting radiologists and physicians during procedures. You will work in a fast-paced surgical environment performing specialized imaging procedures including spine, orthopedic, cardiac, vascular, C-Arm, and other advanced OR imaging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination through proper positioning and execution of specialty radiologic procedures
• Assist radiologists and physicians with patient care during imaging procedures
• Review patient medical records to verify physician orders prior to examination
• Inspect radiographic films for quality and verify proper patient identification, date, and medical record number before interpretation
• Operate all specialized imaging equipment in the OR setting while demonstrating competency and adhering to safety guidelines
• Implement Standard Precautions on all patients according to hospital policy
• Cross-train in other specialty areas and departments as workload demands
• Assist with training new technologists and technical assistants in assigned procedures
• Maintain and stock the OR with proper supplies necessary to complete radiologic examinations
• Demonstrate proficiency with computer programs, particularly the HBOC system
• Complete exam data entry and associated paperwork for all studies performed daily
• Report equipment malfunctions to lead technologist, supervisor, and clinical engineering immediately
• Adhere to the hospital's Personnel Radiation Dosimeter Policy
• Attend monthly department staff meetings
• Adjust to variable schedules and procedure techniques as required

Required Qualifications

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of Health and Human Services, Radiation Control
• BLS/CPR certification
• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent
• Three years of clinical radiology technology experience in specialty OR setting with experience in specialized procedures such as spine, orthopedic, cardiac, vascular, C-Arm, or O-Arm imaging
