West Boca Medical Center - Nurse Extern Opportunities

West Boca Medical Center is seeking Nurse Externs to join our healthcare team. As a Nurse Extern, you will work in a supportive and collaborative environment while gaining practical clinical experience. You will assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic patient care designed to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients. Clinical Setting

West Boca Medical Center is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. The facility offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the-art breast imaging center, women's and children's services, and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County. Two emergency centers operate 24 hours a day—one at the main hospital and one in Coconut Creek.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic patient care designed to meet physical, emotional, and social needs
• Perform nursing practice interventions learned within clinical training and validated by an RN staff member
• May be cross-trained to perform unit secretary clerical duties

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program
• Successfully completed a Nursing Fundamentals course
• Completion of first clinical rotation
• AHA BLS certification
