Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Visit Nurse (RN) for its Home Health program serving the North Olympic Peninsula. In this role, you will provide skilled nursing visits to patients in their homes, delivering care as prescribed by physicians and coordinated by Case Manager RNs. You will be a member of the interdisciplinary care team, maintaining communication with Case Managers about patient progress, recommended actions, and plans for subsequent visits.
As a Visit RN, you will apply comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and make independent clinical decisions in complex situations. You may encounter emergency conditions requiring strenuous exertion, such as patient resuscitation in the home setting. You will have contact with patients under varying and unpredictable circumstances and must maintain keen awareness of personal safety. The role includes on-call support as assigned for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in their homes as prescribed by physicians
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies
- Keep Case Manager RNs informed about patient progress and recommended actions
- Communicate physician orders and plan for subsequent visits
- Provide on-call support as assigned
- Apply independent clinical judgment in complex care situations
Schedule
- Full-time (100% FTE)
- Day shift
- Weekend and holiday shifts required
- On-call shifts required
- Occasionally irregular hours
Required Qualifications
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Proof of insurance on automobile used for work
- Driving record in compliance with Olympic Medical Center standards
- Reliable automobile transportation to travel to patient residences
- Computer internet connectivity (work laptop provided)
Education
- Associate's degree required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience
- Minimum of one year recent experience preferred in home health, acute care, or long-term care
Compensation and Incentives
- Pay range: $40.85 - $61.93 per hour
- Retention incentive: $5,000
- Weekend premium: $4.00 per hour
- Lead premium: $3.25 per hour
- Preceptor premium: $1.00 per hour
- Certification premium: $2.00 per hour
- Per diem option: 15% on base plus steps, in lieu of benefits
- Weekend Coordinator pay (charge): 15% on regular pay
