VIC the PICC (VTP) is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare agencies throughout the Western and Southern United States. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will provide on-site and mobile vascular access support services, working collaboratively with facility clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and support physician-directed treatment objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work across different care settings and treatment protocols, providing a different pace from traditional hospital nursing.
Responsibilities
- Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral intravenous lines using ultrasound guidance
- Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
- Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices
- Provide vascular access support services including port access, line removal, and declotting
- Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and other central venous access devices
- Travel to customer facilities as assigned
Clinical Setting
You will work in varied clinical settings including acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare environments across the Western and Southern United States.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
- Experience placing ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous lines (USGIVs)
- Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
- Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- American Heart BLS Certification
- Valid driver's license with active auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and meet scheduling requirements
- Smartphone for scheduling and documentation
Employment Type and Schedule
- Full-Time: 36-48 hours per week across 3-4 shifts per week, including weekend and holiday rotation. Specific days are assigned based on business needs.
- Per Diem: Minimum of 32 hours per month across 4 shifts, with availability to pick up additional shifts as needed. Per Diem opportunities are available for experienced PICC Nurses only and may include weekend and holiday rotation.
Compensation
- Hourly pay range: $50-$70 USD
- Overtime pay available
