Travel (RN) / Operating Room (OR)- DAYS (1036202)

This is a travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at a facility in Lufkin, Texas. You will work day shifts Monday through Friday, primarily 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with variations based on surgical cases and potential early starts at 6:00 AM. The role includes on-call duties two days per week as first or backup call, plus one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). You will not float to other units.

Clinical Setting

The operating room includes 8 regular surgical suites, 2 cystoscopy rooms, 1 endoscopy room, and 2 cesarean section rooms. The facility uses PICIS as the electronic medical record system. Hospital-provided green scrubs are supplied.

Responsibilities

• Manage sterile and non-sterile environments in the operating room
• Circulate cases across multiple surgical specialties
• Coordinate patient care, safety, and workflow throughout the perioperative period
• Provide scrub and first assist support as needed
• Cover general, orthopedic, robotic, urological, obstetric/gynecologic, podiatry, ear/nose/throat, and plastic surgical cases

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Minimum 2 years of dedicated surgical experience
• Confident circulator abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrub experience
• First assist experience
• Experience with general, orthopedic, robotic, urological, obstetric/gynecologic, podiatry, ear/nose/throat, and plastic surgical cases

Schedule and Compensation

• Start date: As soon as possible, including earliest start with compliance clearance
• Pay rate: $48-49 per hour
• Day shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM (varies based on cases; early starts at 6:00 AM may be required)
• On-call: 2 days per week as first or backup call, plus one weekend per month
• No floating to other units
• Request time off with a substitute
• No 48-hour turnaround requirement
• No block scheduling

Travel Requirements

• Travelers must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
