Travel Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) – Rochester, NY

This is a 13-week travel contract position for an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in a high-acuity operating room setting specializing in robotic-assisted surgery. You will serve in a dual-role capacity, functioning as both an RNFA and performing circulating and scrub duties as needed. This position requires strong expertise with DaVinci robotic surgical systems across multiple specialties including urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, and general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures as a Registered Nurse First Assistant
• Perform circulating and scrub duties when not functioning in the RNFA role
• Provide intraoperative support in robotic-assisted surgeries
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with the surgical team for optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in evening call rotation and rotating holiday coverage

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN license
• Completion of an accredited RNFA program
• CNOR certification
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles
• DaVinci robotic surgery experience in urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, and/or general surgery
• BLS certification (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 trauma operating room experience
• ACLS certification (AHA)

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• 36 or 48 hours per week (flexible)
• Evening call rotation and rotating holiday coverage required
• No weekend requirements

Compensation

• $2,400 to $2,700 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks with option to extend
