This position provides essential patient care services under the direction of a professional registered nurse. You will perform a variety of clinical and support tasks that directly contribute to patient comfort, safety, and healing while maintaining patient dignity and autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and collaborate with the professional registered nurse
- Perform patient care tasks under RN direction including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, and venous compression devices
- Perform basic patient care services under RN direction including height and weight measurements, intake and output monitoring, retrieval of equipment and supplies, and stocking patient rooms
- Maintain a conducive patient environment including keeping rooms clutter-free, removing linen and trash, and ensuring quiet surroundings
- Support patient and family communication needs by answering call lights, orienting new patients to their rooms, and assisting with discharge appointments
- Promote patient safety by assisting with patient mobility and participating in safety rounds
- Promote patient comfort by providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, and meal assistance
- Transport non-monitored patients
- Assist the RN with monitored and intubated patient transports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience within the past six months
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- CNA Program/Certification, or AEMT/Paramedic Licensure/Certification, or MA Program/Certification
- BLS certification required within 14 days of hire
