Surgical Technologist II-FT/Day Shift-Operating Room (BenTaub Hospital)

Join Ben Taub Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Houston, as a Surgical Technologist II. In this full-time day shift role, you will assist the surgical team in operative procedures, maintaining proper aseptic technique while demonstrating current knowledge of surgical equipment, sutures, and procedures.

Clinical Setting

Ben Taub Hospital is part of Harris Health, the public healthcare safety-net provider serving Harris County, Texas. The hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and anchor facility within a robust network of 39 clinics, health centers, and specialty locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in operative procedures utilizing proper aseptic technique
• Maintain current knowledge of surgical equipment, sutures, and procedures being performed
• Demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness in the operating room
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment appropriately

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited educational program for surgical technologists
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing
• Current CPR certification
• Computer and/or key entry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience

Schedule

• Full-time day shift position
• Weekends and holidays required
• Flexible scheduling
• On-call duties

Compensation

• $31.97 - $40.77 per hour
