Surgical Tech - Operating Room

Prime St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Surgical Tech for the Operating Room. As an Operating Room Tech, you will prepare sterile supplies and instruments for assigned procedures, maintain the sterile field during cases, and provide surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during surgical procedures.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a hospital operating room environment, supporting surgical procedures across generalized surgical specialties including gynecology, general surgery, and plastics, as well as specialty surgical areas such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, and urology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
• Maintain sterile field during surgical cases
• Provide surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during procedures
• Scrub minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties
• Scrub at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or related experience
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years experience in a surgical setting
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics)
• Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.)
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current status

• Per Diem (as needed)
• Day shifts

Compensation

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation. The reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.30 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hire based on factors including skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
