Surgical Tech, Certified, Operating Room, Part Time, Evening

Join The Valley Hospital in Paramus as a Certified Surgical Technologist in our Operating Room. This part-time evening position offers the opportunity to assist surgeons and registered nurses during surgical operations while providing safe, competent care to patients across all age groups and with varying physical and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and registered nurses during surgical operations
• Perform routine, technical, and related duties during procedures
• Manage daily cleaning and processing of surgical equipment
• Remove, clean, and decontaminate equipment between cases
• Ensure clean equipment is available for each procedure
• Serve as the resource person for assigned specialty, including tray inventory, instrument maintenance, supply ordering, and fulfilling physician requests
• Provide care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Assist during basic robotic surgery cases after completing competency assessment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a formal accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• CPR Certification
• Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods
• Ability to work cooperatively with healthcare team members and staff
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in workload and schedule
• Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience or completion of a formal internship through an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• CST certification and membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists

• Part-time, evening shift
