Substitute School Nurse

This is a substitute school nurse position providing health care services to students in a school setting. Working under the direction of the Health Services Director, you will deliver clinical nursing care, manage student health records, and coordinate preventive health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Document and record all student immunization records and provide required reports to the Department of Education
• Coordinate and provide hearing and vision screening for students
• Oversee and provide information for parents as required by the Department of Education
• Provide assistance for and observe students who report to the clinic
• Administer medicine to students as prescribed by their doctor
• Monitor and assist students with diabetes
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Health Services Director

Schedule

• 8 hours per day, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Required Qualifications

• Current Indiana LPN or RN license
• Successful related job field work experience
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, ascend and descend stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Ability to process tasks using internal software, internet, and generally accepted office software such as Word and Excel
• Ability to use student management software
