Student Nurse Extern RN - Nursing Float Pool

Join Resurrection Medical Center's Nursing Float Pool as a Student Nurse Extern RN. In this per diem position, you will provide direct patient care under the general supervision of an RN, working day shifts with rotating weekends. You will function as an adjunct to the patient care team, performing clinical skills at the level you have successfully completed and passed in your nursing program's clinical section.

All newly hired externs begin in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. Once cleared by the supervisor, you may be moved to your appropriate skill level based on your completed coursework and demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols
• Perform clinical skills at the level completed in your nursing program
• Work under the general supervision of an RN
• Expand your skill set as cleared by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Good academic standing in your nursing program

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

• Per Diem, PRN

• Rotating Weekends

Compensation

• Competitive compensation with a reasonable estimate of $21.00 per hour. Exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors including skillset, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
