Student Nurse Extern PRN

Children's Hospital of The Kings Daughters is seeking a Student Nurse Extern to provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to assigned patient populations. This PRN position offers clinical experience under the direct observation and supervision of a registered nurse, with opportunities to participate in educational activities and develop nursing skills in a pediatric hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to assigned patient populations
• Participate in assigned educational activities
• Assist the RN with clinical treatments under direct observation and supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associates, Diploma, or Bachelors of Science Nursing program
• Completion of at least two semesters of clinical rotation
• CPR Training (must be obtained within 45 days of hire if not already current)

Working Conditions

• Normal office and patient care environments with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature extremes
• Occasional exposure to communicable diseases

Schedule

• PRN (less than 16 hours per week)
• 12-hour rotating shifts
• Days and nights available
• No holidays
