Student Nurse Extern PRN

Baptist Health is seeking Student Nurse Externs to join our clinical team through the Student Nurse Extern (SNE) Program. As a Student Nurse Extern, you will assist nursing staff by performing selected procedures and routine duties in patient care. All functions must remain within the scope of training for your extern level and will be performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will expand as you progress through your undergraduate nursing program.

Program Structure

The SNE Program operates at three levels:

• Level 1: Student Nurse Extern I
• Level 2: Student Nurse Extern II
• Level 3: Student Nurse Extern III

Responsibilities

• Perform selected procedures and routine patient care duties within your extern level scope
• Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Develop clinical skills aligned with your progression through the undergraduate nursing program
• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program
• Faculty recommendation letter from your nursing program instructor or leader (must be submitted with your application)
• One of the following:
• Kentucky State Registry (SRNA)
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course
• One year of experience as a nurse aide

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) shifts with varying hours
