Student Nurse Extern Intensive Care Unit

As a Student Nurse Extern in the Intensive Care Unit, you will deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Reporting to the Practice Coordinator, you will perform clinical functions within the scope of practice of a registered nurse for all skills validated by the program's nursing faculty and documented in the Nursing Skills Checklist. When not working under the work study program hours, you may function as non-licensed assistive personnel.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification
• Current enrollment and in good standing with an accredited Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program
• Successful completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing Course with evaluation and validation of technical skills and knowledge as noted in the Nursing Student Skills Checklist
• Current enrollment in a Work Study course in accordance with your college or university requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Current enrollment and in good standing with an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program

Compensation

• Pay rate: $22.00 per hour
