Orlando Health Medical Group Florida Heart and Vascular is seeking a Stress Test Registered Nurse to provide specialized patient care in an ambulatory cardiology setting. In this role, you will work with patients undergoing cardiac stress testing and related cardiovascular procedures, typically in a same-day care environment. You will be part of a multispecialty team of cardiologists and vascular surgeons committed to early disease detection and effective treatment across Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties.
Responsibilities
- Utilize ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based practice to assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care
- Demonstrate age-appropriate nursing knowledge and skills for patients served
- Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care including assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety measures
- Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care and unit equipment as defined by unit-specific requirements
- Prioritize patient care according to Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care
- Identify and resolve problems effectively
- Delegate tasks to healthcare team members based on patient needs and team member qualifications
- Communicate patient condition and unit concerns to other healthcare team members
- Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and families
- Integrate patient and family education throughout care delivery
- Participate in process improvement activities as assigned
- Demonstrate awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
- Contribute to the knowledge and skills of others and continuous improvement of healthcare quality
- Participate in unit and organizational committees related to nursing practice and performance improvement
- Participate in peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice
- Practice efficient use of supplies and maintain a clean, safe, organized unit
- Provide input into staff development needs, hospital and nursing committees, nursing research, and performance management
- Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Current Florida RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
- One year of nursing experience (may be waived with approval from AVP level or above)
- Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department
Additional Certifications
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required for certain areas
