Unlike traditional employment, you will own your practice, choose the patients you want to serve, and structure your schedule according to your preferences. You can start part-time while maintaining your current position and grow at your own pace, or transition to full-time practice ownership.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to patients in your independent practice
- Build and manage your patient panel
- Make clinical and business decisions for your practice
Operational Support Provided
- Insurance credentialing and payer contracting
- Billing, coding, and revenue cycle management
- EHR and technology infrastructure
- Scheduling and patient intake systems
- Virtual front desk with human staff to answer patient calls
- Business setup, legal, and compliance support
- Website and marketing support
- Tools and resources to grow your patient panel
Required Qualifications
- Active Connecticut Nurse Practitioner license
- Meet Connecticut state requirements for independent practice
- Current experience as an FNP, PMHNP, or other Nurse Practitioner specialty
- Several years of clinical experience caring for patients
- Strong ties to the community you intend to serve
Compensation and Growth
- Typical earnings of $100–$150 per clinical hour as your practice grows
- Potential to earn approximately $250,000 annually in a full-time practice
- Most practices can cover basic startup costs with fewer than 3 patient visits per month
