Senior Nursing Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care - PT Days

As a Senior Nursing Assistant in our long-term care facility, you will provide experienced, resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. This part-time position offers 16 hours per week on day shifts at our Fort Collins location.

Clinical Setting

This role is based in long-term care at GSS CO Ft Collins, serving seniors in a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to older adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs and daily living activities including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
• Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• May be responsible for completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program, including documentation, scheduling, and leading restorative programs
• May participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
• Minimum age of 16
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use
• Ability to follow all department-specific policies and maintain accountability
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• Minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care

Additional Requirements

• May be required to complete Restorative Nursing training within 6 months
• When applicable for your state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• Depending on facility requirements, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a motor vehicle report, proof of valid driver's license, and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
• Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required as a condition of employment

Schedule and Compensation

• Part-time position
• 8-hour day shifts
• 16 hours per week
• Salary range: $21.25 - $29.50 per hour
