Senior Nursing Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care - FT/Days

Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Senior Nursing Assistant, Certified for full-time day shifts in our long-term care facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. As an experienced certified nursing assistant, you will provide resident-centered care and support to seniors in our not-for-profit organization dedicated to quality care in a Christian environment.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care facility serving seniors, functioning as a member of the nursing team under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and personal care
• Obtain and record vital signs and collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
• Support nursing staff and providers with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• May be responsible for restorative nursing program tasks including documentation, scheduling, and leading programs
• Participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as needed
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and proper personal protective equipment use

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
• Minimum age of 16
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• Minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• May be required to complete Restorative Nursing training within 6 months
• Depending on facility requirements, may need a valid driver's license, motor vehicle report, and medical qualification to perform driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Additional pay for weekend work
