Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse for the Tri County Cardiology Clinic in Natrona Heights. This full-time position provides quality care to patients and families in a cardiology setting, working under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
Responsibilities
- Perform general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards
- Assist with preparation of equipment and support the physician/clinical provider during patient treatment, examination, and testing
- Collect assessment data, prepare patients for examination, and document clinical information in patient records
- Order diagnostic tests as directed by the registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gather or examine results prior to physician assessment
- Schedule procedures and obtain necessary authorizations
- Provide oversight and technical expertise as needed
- Administer injections or medications, collect blood and tissue specimens, and prepare them for laboratory testing
- Clean equipment, properly dispose of contaminated supplies, and maintain organized work areas according to regulatory standards
- Order cost-effective supplies, stock rooms, and prepare examination areas
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current state licensure as an LPN or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- 3 years of LPN or LVN experience
Preferred Qualifications
- State-approved IV course certification
- Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- PALS or ACLS certification may be required based on specific area of practice
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
