The opportunity

Job Description

Texas Health Resources is hiring a Seasonal Patient Care Technician for the Central Staffing Office to provide clinical staffing support across Region B hospitals on night shifts. This PRN position offers flexibility to float throughout the Metroplex based on business needs, primarily serving the Emergency Department.

You will work as part of the internal staffing department that provides clinical resources to all Texas Health Resources hospitals. The Central Staffing Office is organized into zones, and while you will primarily work in Region B (Denton, Flower Mound, Southlake, HEB, Arlington Memorial, Heart & Vascular, Alliance, and Azle), you must be open to floating to neighboring zones when your primary zone has no staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to patients according to their plan of care
  • Collect patient data, identify and report significant findings to the nurse
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient and family preferences
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently
  • Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk
  • Enter orders into computer or manual systems as applicable
  • Document accurately and appropriately
  • Collaborate with the nurse to adapt care to reflect the patient population
  • Incorporate cultural and religious needs and beliefs into care delivery in collaboration with the nurse
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
  • Anticipate patient, family, and visitor needs and take action to meet those needs

Schedule

  • PRN (as needed) position
  • Must be available to work 36 hours per week
  • Night shifts: 7 PM to 7 AM
  • No self-scheduling
  • This position is not eligible for Full Time or Part Time benefits

Compensation

  • $30.00 per hour

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience within the last 3 years, OR
  • No experience required if you are a nursing student who has completed fundamentals or have military experience with medical training equivalent
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification upon hire

  • Main office: Texas Health Central Staffing Office, 612 E Lamar, Arlington, TX 76011
  • Primary work locations: Region B hospitals throughout the Metroplex
