School Nurse

Sheppard Pratt School in Rockville is a nonpublic special education day school serving students ages 5-21 (grades K-12) with diverse needs including autism, developmental delay, emotional disability, multiple disabilities, other health impairments, specific learning disability, and speech or language impairments. This School Nurse position offers entry-level experience in special education within a collaborative learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of students in our care.

You will promote the health and well-being of students, ensuring they have access to quality medical care and support throughout their educational journey. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to students with various medical needs, including medication administration, wound care, and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with caregivers to provide medical treatment as indicated by each student's health needs and history
• Support the school psychiatrist in medication management
• Maintain cumulative and comprehensive documentation for each student's health record

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• In-person position

Required Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
• Valid license to practice nursing in the State of Maryland (Registered Nurse/RN license)

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of working experience in a school setting

• Pay range: $62,386.69 minimum to $99,600.18 maximum (determined based on years and level of related experience)
