School Nurse RNs or LPNs | Day & Overnights Shifts | Omaha & Surrounding Areas

Pediatric Home Service (PHS) is seeking School Nurses (RNs or LPNs) to provide skilled nursing care to medically complex children in school and home settings across Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding areas. As a School Nurse with PHS, you will build one-on-one relationships with students and families while delivering specialized care that enables children to safely attend school, participate with their peers, and reach important developmental milestones.

Clinical Setting

You will work with children ages 1-19 years old who have complex medical needs including tracheostomies, ventilators, and gastric tubes. Care is provided in school settings during the school day and in home settings during overnight shifts. The focus is on quality, individualized care rather than managing multiple patient assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in home and school settings
• Assess and monitor patient condition and communicate changes with the care team
• Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies
• Provide tracheostomy, ventilator, airway, and gastric tube care as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and support families through education
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain a safe care environment

Schedule and Shifts

Multiple scheduling opportunities are available:

• Full-time and part-time day shifts, Monday through Friday during school hours
• PRN/casual school-time positions for school-day coverage
• Full-time overnight shifts, Sunday through Thursday, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Full-time overnight shifts in various Omaha zip codes (68114, 68124, 68127, 68154, 68164, 68130, 68118)

Compensation and Bonuses

Starting pay is based on license, relevant experience, and qualifications. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is now offered for full-time overnight shifts.

Training and Support
