The school district is seeking a School Nurse (RN/LPN) to provide health services and maintain a safe, healthy environment for students and building personnel.
Clinical Setting
This position is based in a school setting serving students from kindergarten through grade six, with responsibilities across the entire school building.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate care to sick and injured students and staff, or make appropriate referrals for such care
- Dispense student medications according to doctor's orders
- Perform regular health screenings including vision, height, weight, and head lice checks
- Present health lessons to kindergarten through sixth grade students
- Support special services with periodic vision and hearing testing
- Maintain and oversee the health room
- Check and record student health and immunization records
- Compile immunization reports for the Department of Health and State Board of Education
- Work with parents and students regarding communicable diseases and immunizations
- Coordinate Wellness Program guidelines with the Food Service Director and building administrators
- Maintain and revise the district Crisis Management Plan
- Cooperate with outside health agencies to meet state guidelines for school health care
- Implement Board of Education policies
- Attend meetings and conferences necessary for currency of services
- Communicate appropriately with supervisors, employees, students, and visitors
- Maintain confidentiality
- Assume responsibility for additional tasks as assigned by a supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) degree or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate

This position reports to the building administrator and is evaluated by the building principal.
