School Nurse (RN)

HJ Staffing is hiring Registered Nurses for school-based assignments in Houston. In this role, you will serve as the frontline of student health, providing direct care, managing medical plans, and supporting a safe, healthy learning environment in public schools.

Clinical Setting

You will work in school-based settings across diverse Houston communities, supporting student health outside of the hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily care, medications, and emergency interventions for students
• Maintain and implement Individualized Health Plans and Emergency Action Plans
• Ensure compliance with state-mandated health screenings and immunization records
• Support public health efforts in communicable disease control and reporting
• Serve as a key liaison between students, families, school staff, and medical providers
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives on campus
• Comply with HISD and Texas regulations for school nursing

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license
• CPR/AED certification
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience
• Tube feeding and catheterization experience
• Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass HISD background check and onboarding requirements
