School Nurse

South High School seeks a School Nurse to manage the daily operation of the health room, provide health education in classrooms, and serve as a health advisor to staff. This 9.5-month position offers 7-hour days and requires mobility to move throughout school buildings and effective communication skills to interact with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the school health room
• Teach health-related topics in classroom settings
• Advise staff on health-related issues and concerns
• Conduct nursing assessments and provide health services to students
• Promote and support the health and well-being of children

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Missouri nursing license
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent nursing assessment skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to promote and participate in the health and well-being of children

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, community health, or emergency room
• Experience working with special needs students
• Computer skills
• Flexibility and attention to detail
