School Nurse

Maysville Elementary School seeks a School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services to students. In this role, you will perform student health procedures, administer medications as directed, and coordinate school health services including screenings, immunization assessments, and hearing and vision testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform student health procedures and assist with medication administration
• Conduct and coordinate school health services programs
• Perform or coordinate health screenings, immunization status assessments, and hearing and vision tests
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies throughout the school campus
• Handle confidential student health information in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding health matters

Clinical Setting

You will work primarily in a school health clinic and classroom settings at an elementary school, following the standard school calendar and schedule, Monday through Friday during school hours. Occasional after-school hours may be required for school events or meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing
• Knowledge of state laws and regulations regarding school health services

Schedule

• 190 day work calendar
• Monday through Friday during school hours
• Occasional after-school hours may be required

Compensation

• Annual salary based on credentials and years of experience
• LPN: $32,640 - $45,182
• RN: $39,883 - $55,208
