School Nurse (Full-Time)

Pottstown School District is seeking a Full-Time School Nurse at Pottstown Middle School. In this role, you will support student success by providing comprehensive health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school setting. You will also assist with mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and help support their achievement in the learning process.

Responsibilities

• Provide health care assessment, intervention, and follow-up for students
• Assist with mental, emotional, and social health needs of students
• Support student achievement in the learning process
• Manage medication during overnight school trips
• Respond to health-related emergencies
• Provide first aid
• Coordinate with other staff members about health issues

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school setting, which offers a smaller work community compared to hospitals or assisted care or rehabilitation facilities, providing the opportunity to become part of the school community and climate.

Required Qualifications

• RN or LPN license
• Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances
• Physical examination prior to employment
• TB test prior to employment

Compensation and Benefits

This position is part of the state retirement system (PSERS) and includes:

• Medical, dental, vision, and prescription benefits
• Tuition reimbursement of $6,100 per year up to a Master's degree
• Overnight school trip compensation of $300 per day
