School Nurse - Full time, HS

Fall Mountain Regional High School seeks a full-time School Nurse to support student health and wellness. In this role, you will provide comprehensive school health services to high school students, working collaboratively with school physicians, administrators, teachers, and families to create a healthy educational environment and minimize student absences due to illness.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a high school setting, serving the student population and staff of Fall Mountain Regional High School. The position operates on a 189-day annual schedule aligned with the school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Assist the school physician and administrators in developing and implementing school health programs
• Participate in the health curriculum committee
• Conduct school-based immunization programs, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing according to New Hampshire school health manual guidelines
• Observe students regularly to identify health needs and concerns
• Instruct teachers on screening procedures for health defects
• Maintain current and accurate cumulative health records for all students
• Report on student health matters to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies
• Visit students' homes when necessary
• Provide emergency care and assume clinical authority in the absence of a physician for students or staff members with injuries or acute illness
• Administer first aid according to established procedures
• Implement infectious and contagious disease exclusion and readmission policies in accordance with New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and CDC guidelines
• Participate in in-service training programs
• Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards throughout the school
• Develop and team teach cross-curricular and interdisciplinary health units with teachers
• Perform additional related duties as requested by the Principal

Required Qualifications

• Current active Registered Nurse license in the State of New Hampshire
• Prior or related job experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Candidates without a BSN will be required to obtain the degree over the course of two 3-year certification cycles.

Reporting and Evaluation

This position reports to the Principal. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Agreement between Fall Mountain Regional School District and the Fall Mountain Teachers Association, Inc.
