School Nurse - FLOAT

This is a float school nurse position responsible for the daily operation of the health room, teaching health-related topics in classrooms, and serving as an advisor to staff on health issues. You will work in a school health services setting with a 9.5-month calendar and 7-hour days.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the daily health room functions
• Teach health-related topics in classroom settings
• Advise staff on health-related issues
• Move throughout school buildings to provide services
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families through written, verbal, and non-verbal means

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Missouri nursing license
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent nursing assessment skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to promote and participate in the health and well-being of children

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in school nursing
• Pediatrics experience
• Community health experience
• Emergency room experience
• Experience working with special needs students
• Computer skills
• Flexibility and attention to detail

Schedule
