School Nurse

Willie Jeffries School of Excellence seeks a full-time School Nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students and staff. This position is responsible for administering medications, managing chronic health conditions, delivering emergency care, and promoting health education within a professional school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff
• Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records of medication administration
• Monitor and track students with chronic health conditions such as asthma and diabetes
• Provide health education to students and staff on topics including hygiene, nutrition, and illness prevention
• Coordinate with parents and medical professionals to address students' health needs
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal health regulations
• Maintain student health records and confidentiality
• Participate in health screenings and immunization tracking
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid South Carolina nursing license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle medical emergencies effectively
• Knowledge of state and federal health regulations for schools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric or school nursing

Work Environment
