School-Based Registered Nurse (RN)

Care Options for Kids is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide school-based health services at COFK. In this role, you will deliver direct medical care to students, manage acute and chronic health conditions, administer medications, and coordinate care between students, families, healthcare providers, and school staff. You will develop and implement individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans for students with medical needs, maintain compliant immunization and health records, and ensure all documentation meets HIPAA and FERPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency care, and chronic disease management
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring student responses
• Maintain and ensure student immunization and health records comply with state regulations
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with medical conditions
• Serve as a liaison between students, families, healthcare providers, and school staff to coordinate care and accommodations
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience
• School Nurse Certification or willingness to obtain
