School Based Registered Nurse

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Registered Nurse to serve as a School Based Nurse. In this role, you will provide direct health care to students in a school setting, managing acute illnesses and injuries while overseeing chronic disease management. You will administer medications according to school protocols, educate students and staff on health and wellness topics, and collaborate with school personnel to maintain a safe and supportive environment for the school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic care for students when they are injured or ill, and manage chronic conditions
• Oversee the school's medication administration program
• Educate students and staff on healthy habits, including hygiene and proper nutrition
• Work with school staff to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the school community

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current or eligibility for School Nurse endorsement as prescribed by the State Department of Education
• Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health
