The opportunity

Job Description

InSite Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and care coordination for children, adolescents, and adults in a school-based setting in Paramus, New Jersey. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, care coordinators, and school leadership to deliver evidence-based mental health treatment and support student outcomes.

Clinical Setting

This position is based at a school site in Paramus, New Jersey. Care is delivered in accordance with New Jersey regulations, InSite clinical protocols, and collaborative practice agreements. You will have the flexibility to choose which days you work within the part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits via in-person and telehealth modalities as clinically appropriate
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within scope of practice; provide medication monitoring, psychoeducation, and safety planning
  • Review external physicals, labs, and screenings obtained off-site to ensure medical needs are integrated into treatment planning
  • Provide timely medication refills within policy; escalate high-acuity cases and coordinate higher levels of care when indicated
  • Complete accurate, clinically appropriate documentation in the EHR within required timelines
  • Maintain problem lists, medication lists, allergies, CQM items, and measurement-based care instruments
  • Participate in case consultations, multidisciplinary huddles, and care coordination with internal and external partners
  • Support administrative responsibilities including forms, prior authorization input, and chart reviews
  • Practice culturally responsive, trauma-informed care incorporating clinical guidelines and decision support
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality metrics

Required Qualifications

  • PMHNP-BC certification
  • Active New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license
  • Ability to prescribe within New Jersey regulations and federal/state prescribing laws (CDS/DEA)
  • Proficiency with EHR systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA compliance requirements in school settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Avon EHR system
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Schedule and Employment

  • Part-time position: 2 days per week, 16 hours total
  • Clinician may choose which days to work
  • Employment type: W-2

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay rate: $70-$80 per hour

Physical Demands
