School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

HealthPRO Pediatrics is hiring a full-time School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Lakewood, WA. In this role, you will provide direct medical support to a student during the school day, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating care with school staff and healthcare providers. This is a W-2 position with year-round benefits.

Clinical Setting

You will work within a school-based environment, supporting students who require nursing services as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role involves collaboration with school staff, families, and the broader healthcare team to ensure students receive appropriate medical care during school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including tracheostomy and ventilator management
• Monitor student health status and vital signs throughout the school day
• Administer medications as prescribed and documented in the student's care plan
• Maintain all required documentation, including daily notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP records
• Consult and collaborate with school staff and families regarding students' health and wellness
• Participate in the IEP process, including developing present levels of performance, goals, objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for nursing services
• Provide nursing services using current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP
• Ensure compliance with district requirements and ASHA's code of ethics

Required Qualifications

• Current active Washington LPN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Tracheostomy and ventilator care experience required
• Successful experience working with culturally diverse families
