Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Registered Nurse to serve as a School Based Licensed Nurse. In this role, you will provide direct care to students in a school setting, managing acute health needs and chronic conditions while promoting health and wellness across the school community.
Clinical Setting
You will work within a public school district, charter school, or community setting, serving as the primary healthcare provider for students during the school day.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic care for students when they are injured or ill, and manage chronic conditions
- Oversee the school's medication administration program
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, including hygiene and proper nutrition
- Work with school staff to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the school community
- Coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Current or eligibility for School Nurse endorsement as prescribed by the State Department of Education
- Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health
