School Based Licensed Nurse

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Registered Nurse to serve as a School Based Licensed Nurse. In this role, you will provide direct care to students in a school setting, managing acute health needs and chronic conditions while promoting health and wellness across the school community.

Clinical Setting

You will work within a public school district, charter school, or community setting, serving as the primary healthcare provider for students during the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic care for students when they are injured or ill, and manage chronic conditions
• Oversee the school's medication administration program
• Educate students and staff on healthy habits, including hygiene and proper nutrition
• Work with school staff to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the school community
• Coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current or eligibility for School Nurse endorsement as prescribed by the State Department of Education
• Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health
