Job Description

Texas Health Arlington Memorial is seeking a Scheduling Specialist for the Operating Room Main department. This full-time position is based in Arlington, Texas and involves scheduling testing and procedures while ensuring maximum productivity and efficient patient flow.

Schedule

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Day shift
  • Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 West Randol Mill Road, Arlington, Texas 76012

Responsibilities

  • Schedule testing and procedures for the operating room in an accurate and timely manner to ensure maximum productivity and expedient patient flow
  • Perform medical necessity checks for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation complies with applicable guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and other necessary staff to reduce appointment time and date errors
  • Stay current with and comply with applicable regulations, entity policies, and system procedures
  • Maintain customer service and productivity guidelines established by leadership
  • Participate in special projects and complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) upon hire
