The opportunity

Job Description

Texas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room at our 99-bed facility in Flower Mound, Texas. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a modern surgical and procedural environment with advanced technology, supported by a collaborative team culture focused on exceptional patient outcomes.

Schedule

  • Full time, 36 hours weekly
  • Days shift
  • Location: 4400 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028

Responsibilities

  • Respond to patients' priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological, and social needs
  • Demonstrate attention to emotional, social, and self-esteem needs through regular assessment and maintenance of comfort
  • Provide safe patient care using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administration
  • Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Complete assessments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Individualize care plans specific to patient needs
  • Provide consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene needs
  • Honor the worth of patients through unconditional acceptance, including handling of the body with care, demonstrating knowledge of patient rights, calling patients by their preferred name, and using appropriate eye contact and physical contact

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing Diploma, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse, or completion of a Registered Nurse residency program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of confidentiality and positive interpersonal skills
