RN Team Lead - Operating Room - Weekday Nights

This full-time RN Team Lead position in the Operating Room at Carilion Clinic's Roanoke facility provides clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery on weekday nights. You will serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and team leader while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a team leader, clinical resource, mentor, and role model for nursing staff
• Provide direct patient care and coordinate care delivery for patients of all ages
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes
• Lead and mobilize the care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Facilitate effective communication and resolve operational issues within the work group
• Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
• Participate in performance evaluations and contribute to development planning
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage
• Collaborate with leadership on fiscal management, resource allocation, and budget considerations
• Participate in performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and quality initiatives
• Conduct team meetings and promote a positive, accountable work environment
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information
• Support organizational initiatives and adapt to changing priorities
• Respond to staffing needs, including supporting other Carilion facilities as required

Schedule

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise
• Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• AHA BLS-HCP certification
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role

Additional Certifications

• ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area

• Compensation range: $39.00 - $62.40 per hour (based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience)
