RN - School Nurse - PRN

Avel eCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide school nurse services via telemedicine on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this role, you will support the eSchool Nurse Case Manager and eSchool Health Director by delivering virtual school health services to students across multiple school districts.

You will work day shift hours (8 hours per day) with no weekend requirements. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a varied PRN schedule.

Responsibilities

• Consult with school administrators to determine health goals and services needed
• Serve as a team member in identifying, evaluating, and providing services for students
• Collect information about students' health and developmental status in a systematic and continuous manner
• Use collected health data to determine nursing diagnoses, utilizing electronic communication, equipment, and unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate
• Maintain individualized nursing care plans with specific goals and interventions based on each student's needs
• Serve as a liaison between schools and community health, welfare agencies, and medical professionals
• Focus on prevention of illness and disability, and early detection and correction of health problems
• Assist with maintenance of student health records
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students
• Facilitate referrals of students and families to appropriate district and community services
• Provide care for students with scheduled and unscheduled health needs, including administering medications, treatments, and procedures as directed by physicians and district policy
• Supervise staff in delegated tasks
• Provide health education to students, staff, and parents
• Maintain confidentiality of all student health information
• Report findings to the RN eSchool Nurse Case Manager or eSchool Health Director
• Participate in ongoing professional growth and professional or community organizations
• Comply with school district policies and operating procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Active Registered Nurse license with one unrestricted state license
• RN licensure required within the states where eCare provides services within 120 days of employment
• One to three years of experience in the health care field

Preferred Qualifications

• Community health experience
• Pediatrics experience
• Mental health experience

Schedule

• Day shift, 8 hours per day
• No weekends
• PRN with varied shifts as needed
