RN - School Nurse

Interim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as a District School Nurse in Fairmont. In this role, you will provide school-based professional nursing care to students, including medication administration, treatments, and other clinical care consistent with students' medical orders, school policies, and current nursing standards.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school district setting, serving students with varying health needs and medical complexities.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based professional nursing care including medications, treatments, and other care to students consistent with medical orders, school policies, and current standards of nursing practice
• Integrate knowledge of students' health and family histories into nursing care activities
• Train, support, and communicate with school staff regarding student health issues through modeling, informal and formal instruction
• Communicate with families and team members regarding student health issues as warranted
• Refer persistent, significant, or complex student health issues to other school team members, the Certified School Nurse, Director of Health Services, or students' healthcare providers as appropriate
• Document nursing care activities consistent with school policies and procedures

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Active West Virginia Registered Nurse license
• Diploma from a school of nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• West Virginia School Nurse Certification
• Experience with children with multiple disabilities, including visual impairments
