The opportunity

Job Description

Hospital Sisters Health System is recruiting Summer 2027 graduate nurses for an RN Residency and Nurse Extern II program. This is an excellent opportunity to transition into professional nursing practice. You can begin as a Nurse Extern II during your final semester of nursing school and move directly into your RN position upon obtaining your license.

Clinical Setting

You will work at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Illinois, in the Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department settings.

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Compensation and Sign-On Bonus

  • Pay range: $30.50 to $46.80 per hour
  • Actual pay rate based on relevant experience, skills, training, certifications, and education
  • Sign-on bonus up to $10,000

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice
  • Active Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
  • Wisconsin: RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must not require sponsorship for an employment visa, either now or in the future

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Healthcare experience
