We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our orthopedic specialty team. In this role, you will provide routine and complex nursing care to orthopedic patients, practicing independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant clinical aspects. You will manage long-range care goals and plans, develop your ability to handle clinical contingencies, and make appropriate assignments and delegations to support optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your level of practice
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education; identify issues and resources
- Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Practice consistently with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of employment or compact
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- One year of experience in orthopedic nursing or related specialty
