RN - Registered Nurse - PRN

Good Samaritan-Algona Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide individualized nursing care to seniors in a not-for-profit senior living community. This PRN position offers flexible scheduling with 12-hour shifts and the opportunity to work with an established organization that has served seniors for over 100 years.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a senior care facility providing preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment services to residents.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues including providers to plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform various nursing interventions
• May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their competence level
• Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe and reliable administration of resident care
• Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards
• Function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules

Required Qualifications

• Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where nursing practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

• PRN (as-needed) position
