RN - Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Homewood Living Williamsport is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift work in a senior living community. In this part-time role, you will assess and deliver direct resident care, administer prescribed medications, and supervise nursing support staff. You will work closely with physicians, participate in resident care planning, and respond to the physical and psychological needs of residents in accordance with established nursing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
• Assess the direct delivery of resident care and maintain accurate, descriptive records of medical and nursing care
• Assign daily resident care duties to Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides, monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivery
• Accurately transcribe and carry out all physician orders and assist with physician visits
• Participate in resident care planning and evaluate residents' physical and psychological needs
• Assist with admissions and discharges of residents
• Manage and support Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides
• Provide direct resident care as time and responsibilities permit
• Respond quickly and decisively in emergencies and to unexpected resident behavior
• Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information, conditions, families, and personnel matters
• Comply with established corporate and departmental policies and procedures

Schedule

• Night shift, part-time position

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $37.20 - $40.20

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing nursing care
• Ability to read, write, and understand English well
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, and turn frequently throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to lift 30 pounds in assisting co-workers with resident lifts and transfers several times throughout the shift
• Ability to push a medication cart in dispensing medications
• Ability to walk and stand constantly throughout the campus in evaluating residents and supporting staff
• Ability to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in response to unexpected resident behavior
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate with residents at a level they can understand
• Judgment capabilities, initiative, and dependability
