Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift position at GSS IA Villisca Center in Villisca, Iowa. This role provides individualized nursing care to seniors in a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience delivering housing and services in a Christian environment.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a senior living community providing preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment across all phases of resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues including providers to plan, implement, and evaluate care
  • Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform various nursing interventions
  • Serve as charge nurse when assigned and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their job descriptions, skills, competence levels, and resident care needs
  • Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns
  • Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge using appropriate age and population-specific standards
  • Function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure

Required Qualifications

  • Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where nursing practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including but not limited to Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • 40 hours per week
