This position offers the opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a cardiology catheterization laboratory setting. You will demonstrate clinical proficiency and independence in caring for patients and their families by applying the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will consult with physicians, staff, and management on nursing problems and hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met, while continuing to develop new skills and maintain clinical competency within the department.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and safe patient care in the cardiology catheterization laboratory
- Apply and document the nursing process for all assigned patients
- Consult with staff, physicians, and management regarding nursing problems and policy interpretation
- Practice the five rights of medication administration
- Demonstrate efficient time management to maximize productivity
- Promote teamwork and ask for assistance when necessary
- Act as a patient advocate, including families in care while respecting confidentiality
- Respect patients' cultural and religious beliefs
- Effectively address end-of-life decisions and code status discussions
- Maintain reliable attendance and work assigned shifts
- Be accountable for actions, behaviors, and decisions
- Utilize the chain of command appropriately to resolve issues
- Participate in hospital and department quality activities
- Adhere to organizational and departmental customer service standards
- Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures via the intranet
- Participate in yearly legal compliance training
- Demonstrate communication skills with persons of varying ages and cultures
- Answer and route telephone calls as assigned
- Support the hospital and department mission and philosophy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Verbal CPI certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- One year of experience in a related nursing specialty
- Ability to speak additional languages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge

- Full-time position with varying shifts
