Join UAB St. Vincent's East as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health - Nursing Administration Intake. This full-time evening position focuses on coordinating patient intake activities and clinical review processes for behavioral health admissions.
You will evaluate the severity of illness for all elective, direct, and urgent admissions to determine the appropriate level of patient care. Your responsibilities include reviewing physician orders for clinical appropriateness and completeness, ensuring proper admission status, and conducting complex clinical reviews for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests to assess medical necessity. You will also coordinate education and development initiatives with internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of the intake review and approval process.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 5 eight-hour shifts per week
- Evening shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- Location: UAB St. Vincent's East
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing
- BLS Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date
