RN - Registered Nurse - Austin - PT - Evening Shift

Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin, MN is a 45-bed long-term care and transitional care facility seeking a Registered Nurse for part-time evening shifts. In this role, you will provide individualized nursing care to residents using the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues including providers to plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Clinical Setting

This is a long-term care and transitional care facility located along the Cedar River in Southeastern Minnesota. You will care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents
• Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, and provide resident education
• Implement various nursing interventions appropriate to resident needs
• May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their job descriptions, skills, and competence levels
• Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care
• Function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules
• Practice in accordance with the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses

Schedule

• Part-time position: 40 hours per bi-weekly pay period (20 hours per week)
• Evening shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
• Bachelor's degree in nursing

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $36.00 to $45.81 per hour
