Memorial Hermann is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PreOp, OR, Endo, and IV Infusion departments on the night shift. In this role, you will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, efficient patient care utilizing the nursing process. You will conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, provide patient education, and maintain medical records for patients in perioperative and procedural settings.
Schedule
- Hours: 11pm-7am
- No on-call requirements
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and appropriate nursing care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and assist with patient exams and treatments
- Provide patient education and maintain accurate medical records
- Coordinate planning for nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team
- Administer appropriate clinical decisions in patient care delivery
- Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, and evidence-based standards
- Coordinate treatment plans and develop or implement discharge and transfer plans
- Participate in systematic evaluation of programs, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes
- Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards
- Manage time, supplies, and productivity within budgetary specifications
- Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory and continuing education requirements and maintaining skills competency
- May serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current Texas RN license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous experience in Pre and Post Op settings
- PACU, IMU, or ICU experience
Experience Levels
Memorial Hermann hires RNs based on years of experience: newly licensed RN (working under supervision of RN clinical preceptor), RN I (less than 1 year), RN II (1-3 years), RN III (3-10 years), and RN IV (10+ years).
Additional Requirements
- Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and nursing unit requirements
- Must adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
